iOS – Text Display Issue (Punctuation)

Some users have encountered an issue in the latest app update which can cause punctuation to appear instead of the correct text. (See the screenshot below as an example of this issue.) We apologize for the inconvenience this causes you and plan to address the issue in a coming update. To fix this problem, please follow the steps below:

  • Make sure you’re signed into your Olive Tree account by tapping on the A* icon (Settings), Advanced Settings, and tap on Account or Login/Register at the bottom of the screen.
  • Enter in your Olive Tree username and password, and tap Login. It’s important to re-enter this information, even if it is already shown.
  • Go into general settings application for your device (this is not in the Bible Study App, but under the Settings app on your iOS device), and scroll down until you see settings for the Bible Study app that is installed, and select the ‘On’ position for “Rescan Library”.
  • Re-open the Bible Study App. You will see a prompt saying it needs to be re-started. Tap ‘OK’ and open the app.
  • Next, close the app and go into general settings application for your device (this is not in the Bible Study App, but under the Settings app on your iOS device), and scroll down until you see settings for the reader that is installed, and select the ‘On’ position for “Clear Content Cache”.
  • Re-open the Bible Study App. You may see a prompt saying it needs to be re-started. Tap ‘OK’ and open the app. The issue should be resolved.

Please contact our Customer Support team at support@olivetree.com if you’re still having difficulty after following these steps.
