The BibleReader allows you to add and sort bookmarks for Bible verses or locations in other texts that you would like to return to in the future. Bookmarks are shortcuts to particular locations in a file, and save time in navigating the text.
You can organize bookmarks into categories, sort the order they appear in, add and delete bookmarks, and export search lists to a bookmark file. One bookmark file can hold up to 400 reference links. You can have as many bookmark files as you have space for on your device. The size of a bookmark file will vary depending on how many reference links it holds.
Note: Bookmark files are saved with the prefix bkm_. The default bookmark list is named bkm_BibleReader
There are three ways to access the bookmarks:
| 1. | Through the menu: Tree > Tools > Bookmarks |
| 2. | By tapping on the Bookmark icon: |
| 3. | Using the Graffiti shortcut: /B |
Instructions below use the bookmark icon as the access method, but the menu method or the Graffiti shortcut will work as well.
To switch bookmark files:
| 1. | Tap the Bookmark icon. Tap Edit in the dropdown list to bring up the Edit Bookmarks screen. |
| 2. | Tap File list to bring up a list of all of your bookmark files. |
| 3. | Tap the name of a bookmark list (for example, bkm_Biblereader is the default set of bookmarks) to select it. Tap Select to use that file of Bookmarks. |
| 4. | Tap Done to return to the main BibleReader screen. |
To create a new bookmark file:
| 1. | Tap the Bookmark icon. Tap Edit to bring up the Edit Bookmarks screen. |
| 2. | Tap File list to bring up a list of all of your bookmark files. |
| 3. | Tap Add to create a new bookmark file. |
| 4. | Enter a name for the new list and tap OK. (The name should be 10 characters or less.) |
| 5. | Then tap on the new file name in the list and tap Select to use this as the active bookmark file. |
To add bookmarks to a different bookmark file:
| 1. | Tap the Bookmark icon. Tap Edit to bring up the Edit Bookmarks screen. |
| 2. | Tap File list to bring up a list of all of your bookmark files. |
| 3. | Tap a bookmark list and tap Select. This now becomes the active list that bookmarks will be saved to. |
| 4. | Tap Done. Now new bookmarks will now be added to the selected list. |
Bookmark Management
| 1. | Tap the Bookmark icon. Tap Edit to bring up the Edit Bookmarks screen. |
| 2. | Select the scripture reference you want to move in the list. Tap Move Up or Move Down to move the reference to a different spot in the list. Sort will arrange the references in order from OT to NT. |
| 3. | Tap Done to return to the main BibleReader screen. |
To export a list of search results to a bookmark file:
| 1. | Do a Search for a word or words on the Basic or Advanced Search screen. |
| 2. | Tap the Export button and select Export to Bookmark, with an appropriate File Name specified. |
| 3. | Tap Export Now and confirm the file creation. Tap Done. |
| 4. | Then perform the Search by tapping the Search button. All the results will be added to the appropriate bookmark folder you just created. From there you can edit them to your choosing. |
Note: If there is an existing search open in the Search window, following the steps above will export that search to the specified file.
To add a bookmark while navigating through the text:
| 1. | Have the passage you wish to bookmark at the top of the text screen (displaying as the active reference in the top toolbar). |
| 2. | Tap the Bookmark icon in the top toolbar and select Add Reference. |
To delete a bookmark while navigating through the text:
| 1. | Tap the Bookmark icon and select the bookmark you wish to delete. |
| 2. | Tap Delete reference in the bookmark list, and the reference will be deleted from the list. |
