The five-way navigator on your Smartphone is your key to scrolling in the BibleReader application. Under Menu > Options > Scrolling Preferences you can change the Up/Dn and Left/Rt settings to scroll by Line/Verse/Screen/History/Chapter/Book.
On this screen you can also specify how you would like to select hyperlinks in the text - by the Up/Down or Left/Right arrows on the 5-way.
