Announcing BibleReader updates and features! We at Olive Tree want to take a few minutes to let our valued customers know what we've been doing with the BibleReader application over the last several months. There are lots of new features that we've been adding, and we didn't want any of you to miss out. And remember – the BibleReader application is a free download for all of our users. Read on to find out what we've been up to on each BibleReader platform.
Palm OS | Pocket PC | Windows Mobile Smartphone | Symbian Cell Phones | BlackBerry | iPod | Java Cell Phone
If you are not familiar with what platform your handheld device uses, just go to our website, select your device's manufacturer and model from the upper right corner, then click on the BibleReader link under "Olive Tree Resources" on your new homepage.
Palm OS & Pocket PC
We've added the following new features to the Palm and Pocket PC BibleReaders:
(Note that updates are only supported on Palm OS 5.0 and later, Window Mobile 4.2 and later.)

Windows Mobile Smartphone (including Windows Mobile 6 Standard)
We've added the following new features to the Windows Mobile Smartphone and Symbian Cell Phone BibleReaders:
- 5-way Support for Selecting Hyperlinks - you can now navigate hyperlinks in the text using the left/right buttons of the 5-way navigator. The hyperlink settings can be modified under the Scrolling Preferences.
- Customizable Shortcuts - new ones can be added under Menu > Options > Shortcut Preferences.
- Bookmarks - add bookmarks to any Bible under Menu > Tools.
- Verse Chooser - updated and now easier to use, with a three-tap system which enables you to quickly select the book, chapter, and verse you want to view. Read more about the details of this feature on Olive Tree's blog.
- Table of Contents Navigation – now enabled on many of our products that have a more complicated "outline" type organization. The Table of Contents makes it easy to browse through the text and find the section you are looking for.

Symbian Cell Phones
The BibleReader for Symbian cell phones includes the following features:
- Verse Chooser - updated and now easier to use, with a three-tap system which enables you to quickly select the book, chapter, and verse you want to view. Read more about the details of this feature on Olive Tree's blog.
- Table of Contents Navigation – now enabled on many of our products that have a more complicated "outline" type organization. The Table of Contents makes it easy to browse through the text and find the section you are looking for.
- Shortcuts – these make it easy to navigate the BibleReader. Save yourself time by adding in shortcuts for the actions you do often.
- Options – to customize the BibleReader so it looks and acts the way you want it to. The BibleReader has scrolling, fonts, and colors options.
- More available resources – you can now download many of our commentaries, devotionals, and eBooks to use with the BibleReader. To find out what resources are available for your device, come to the Olive Tree home page, select your device in the upper right corner, and then begin browsing available products.

- Four different Verse Chooser layouts – pick the one that works best for you.
- We are working on a beta version of the BibleReader for BlackBerry that will include some new features that a number of our customers have been requesting. Keep an eye on our beta site in the coming weeks for related updates!
Are you wondering how to customize the shortcuts in the BibleReader? Here's how…
Open the BibleReader on your BlackBerry, and open the menu (on most units, push in on the jog wheel to access the menu). Select Settings > Shortcuts. This will give you a list of all the pre-assigned shortcuts. Open the menu on this screen, and from here you can Add and Delete shortcuts – pick the action you want for each button.

The iPod is Olive Tree's newest supported platform – you can now read the Bible, Christian eBooks, and Devotionals on your iPod. When you are reading a Bible translation, navigate quickly from one scripture passage to another with the Verse Chooser menu.

Java Cell Phone
Olive Tree now offers two ways to install the BibleReader to your Java cell phone:
- Local file support – install and read the Bible directly from your cell phone.
