BibleReader on iPhone

BibleReader™ comes to iPhone!

After months of hard work, our new BibleReader™ for iPhone went live at the Application Store at Apple iTunes last week.

We're excited about this new application. It offers many of the features you've come to appreciate: simple navigation with a 3-touch verse chooser, a library that's easy to sort, word search, and continuous scrolling (you don't have to press extra buttons to get to the next Bible chapter or book). In addition, each complete book is stored on your device, so you don’t need an internet connection to read.

We're still hard at work improving the program and adding more features. Expect to see notes, bookmarks, and phrase search soon, with original languages (Greek and Hebrew), Strong's numbers, and daily reading schedules to follow. If you've already downloaded a BibleReader™ Application from iTunes, you'll be able to download new versions for free when updates become available.

Check out our iPhone webpage for more information, and a clear comparison of BibleReader™ features and functionality on iPhone versus other platforms. And remember, as with all iPhone Applications, BibleReader™, Bibles, and other books for iPhone can only be downloaded or purchased through Apple iTunes.

There are two product sets presently available on iTunes. (You must have iTunes installed to follow these links.)

  • BibleReader - 9 Bible translations - Free
  • ESV Study Bundle - 12 Bible translations, 2 commentaries, and Treasury of Scripture Knowledge - for $24.95
  • More available in the next few weeks!

There will be many more titles and bundles available in the future. Additionally, if you've already purchased a bundle, you can download the updates to that bundle for free. For example, when the ESV Study Bundle is updated with new titles in a few weeks, the price will increase. If you buy the ESV Study Bundle now, you'll be able to download the update later, including new titles, for free.

New, Improved BibleReader™ for BlackBerry with Storage Card

Have you wished there were more titles available for your device? We're on the road to closing those gaps with the new BibleReader™ for BlackBerry with Storage Card.

This program is in beta testing, which means that our developers are still improving it. However, it has been released to the public, and anyone can download it for free. Customers who have tested this program have found it to be quite usable. In addition, you can download improved versions as we make updates.

Important: This new program is only available for Blackberry with Storage Card—not for BlackBerry devices without storage cards.

Knowing Scripture

New!   Knowing Scripture, by R. C. Sproul

Written in 1977, this classic by R. C. Sproul is one of his most important and influential books. In it, he makes a case for in-depth personal Bible study, and offers encouragement and guidance to his readers in how to go about this task.

Sproul explains that the personal study and interpretation of scripture were a fundamental principle of the Reformation, and should remain a cornerstone of Protestantism today. While believing passionately that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant word of God, he does not make light of the questions of interpretation that all readers encounter when studying the Bible.

Sproul shows how the Bible can be read closely and carefully, using practical guidelines anyone can learn. He offers an overview of hermeneutics—simply, the practice of interpreting texts, especially the Bible—in simple and down-to-earth language. He also proposes practical rules for biblical interpretation that any reader can follow. Finally, he addresses the important question of culture, and how the Bible, written in a time and place quite different from our own, can be interpreted meaningfully today by modern (or even postmodern!) readers.
