BibleReader for your Palm OS device

Palm OS Installation Instructions

Follow the installation instructions below that match (1) the type of file you are downloading (zip or exe), and (2) the type of computer you are installing from (PC or Mac). We recommend trying the auto installation first. If for some reason this is not successful, follow the manual installation instructions also included below.

Install / Update BibleReader

EXE - Auto Installation from PC

1. Go to the updates page and click on the .exe link to download the Auto Install file. You will be given the option to either Open, Run or Save the file. If you Open (Run) the file, you will begin the setup and installation directly from the internet through the desktop computer and to the device.
2. If you Save the file, we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the desktop computer. Once it is there double-click on the .exe file to begin the setup and installation to the device.
3. Do a normal HotSync between the computer and the device.
4. When the HotSync is completed, tap the BibleReader icon on the device to open the application. Go directly to BibleReader.

ZIP – Auto Installation from PC

Download

1. Go to the updates page, click on the .zip link and select to Save the file; we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the desktop computer.
2. Create a new folder on the Desktop, call it Olive Tree.
3. Open the .zip file on the Desktop of the desktop computer and extract all the files from the .zip folder into the new Olive Tree folder.

Install

4. Open the Olive Tree folder and double click on Install_OliveTree.exe to begin the setup and installation of the necessary files to the device.
5. Do a normal HotSync to the device.
6. When the HotSync is completed, tap the BibleReader icon on the device to open the application. Go directly to BibleReader.

ZIP – Manual Installation from PC

Download

1. Go to the updates page, click on the .zip link, and select to Save the file; we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the desktop computer.
2. Create a new folder on the Desktop, call it Olive Tree.
3. Open the .zip file on the Desktop of the desktop computer and extract the BibleReader.prc file from the .zip folder to the new Olive Tree folder.

Install

4. Open the Palm Quick Install tool on the desktop computer.
5. In the Olive Tree folder, locate the BibleReader.prc file.
6. Load this file into the Quick Install tool, directed to main memory.
7. Do a normal HotSync between the computer and the device.
8. When the HotSync is completed, tap the BibleReader icon on the device to open the application. Go directly to BibleReader.

ZIP – Manual Installation from Mac

Note: you will need to install PocketMac or a similar interfacing software to follow the installation instructions below.

Download

1. Go to the updates page, click on the .zip link, and select to Save the file; we recommend that you save it to the Desktop of the Mac.
2. Create a new folder on the Desktop, call it Olive Tree.
3. Use Stuffit to open the .zip file and extract the BibleReader.prc file to the Olive Tree folder.

Install

5. Open the Olive Tree folder and locate the BibleReader.prc file.
6. Load this file into the Install Handheld Files feature of the Palm Desktop, directed to main memory.
7. Do a normal HotSync to the device.
8. When the HotSync is completed, tap the BibleReader icon on the device to open the application. Go directly to BibleReader.

Install / Update Bibles and other database files

You also need to have a Bible or other database file installed to read. If you need to download a new one, or update your existing files, here's how:

• Download new files from our online store.
• Update existing files from your personal library. Login and click on the Download link for the file you want to install.
