Installation Instructions for your Java-enabled Cell Phone

Requirements

This application requires a cell phone with internet access which can run Java MIDP applications 1.0 and above. Please note, if you do not have internet access as part of your service plan, your carrier will charge you on a per usage basis. Verizon phones do not support the Java BibleReader; instead check out our WAP BibleReader.

Only phones with font support for French, German, or Spanish will be able to display these Bible versions.

This is a wireless application, so memory is not a concern. However, we are aware that local file support is very desirable and are keeping this in mind as we pursue future enhancements to this BibleReader.

Installation if you know your phone model

Open the web browser on your cell phone
Go to http://www.otbeta.com/java/ot
Select your phone?s manufacturer
Select your phone?s model
Your cell phone will now take you through the rest of the installation process
Most cell phones will save the BibleReader in the Downloads or Application area

Installation if you do not know your phone model

Open the web browser on your cell phone
Go to http://www.otbeta.com/java/ot
Select "Generic" from the manufacturer list
Select the Advanced reader
Your cell phone will now take you through the rest of the installation process
Most cell phones will save the BibleReader in the Downloads or Application area

If you received an error while installing the BibleReader or you get an ?Out of memory? error while running the application then follow the steps below to install the Basic reader.

Open the web browser on your cell phone
Go to http://www.otbeta.com/java/ot
Select "Generic" from the manufacturer list
Select the Basic reader
Your cell phone will now take you through the rest of the installation process
Most cell phones will save the BibleReader in the Downloads or Application area

The Basic Solution requires a max jar size of 64k or more and a minimum heap size of 210k. The Advanced Solution requires a max jar size of 128k or more and a minimum heap size of 310k.
