This translation of the Bible into Italian by Giovanni Diodati was the first translation of the Bible into Italian using Hebrew and Greek texts. Diodati was a thorough Calvinist and reformer, succeeding Theodore Beza as professor of Theology at Geneva, Switzerland. He completed this translation in 1603 and released an edited version in 1607. He died in 1649 in Geneva.
