There are several references to the tribulation in Revelation (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.olivetree.com\/bible\/?query=rev+2%3A22&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rev. 2:22<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olivetree.com\/bible\/?query=rev+7%3A14&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">7:14<\/a>; cf. 6-19). The article doesn&#8217;t list verse 9, but it does give us a general reference to what John refers to. He was fellow companion in the suffering being experienced by all the other brothers at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>On Patmos<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Another interesting feature of this opening verse to John\u2019s vision is that he actually gives his location. He is \u201con the island of Patmos.\u201d Since this is not as well-known as other places in the NT, this is where the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olivetree.com\/store\/product.php?productid=17836\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zondervan Atlas of the Bible<\/a> comes in handy.
