Loving Bible Software

If you love the Word of God like I love the Word of God, and if you really want to be able to dig out the meaning God has put into the Scriptures, then you, too, will become a big fan of today's amazing Bible software programs. I am definitely a technologically-challenged individual, but it has been well worth the effort to learn how to use these products.

Bible software helps me use my limited time so much more efficiently. For example, I can take with me everything I need on my i-Pad or i-Phone to work on my Sunday school lesson while I am waiting for my doctor or having my car worked on. Additionally, I have hundreds of resources available at my fingertips any time I want to study.

I don't have to lug around scores of heavy books or have them spread all over the table because they are available on my computer or mobile device. The neat part is you can search any of the following resources and within seconds access the information you are looking for, allowing you to easily compare one resource with another:

  • Bibles
  • Commentaries
  • Dictionaries and lexicons
  • Maps
  • Charts and diagrams
  • Books and articles
  • Photographs

You can use your i-Pad, i-Phone or other mobile devise to follow your pastor's sermon and type notes as he speaks, and easily retrieve them later on for review. You can tag notes to the individual verses whenever you come across corrected translations or good commentary on difficult passages. You can even take your mobile platforms with you when you teach Sunday school. This enables you to quickly pull up maps, pictures, videos, etc. to make the lesson come alive and be more interesting to your students.

Although I know nothing about Greek and Hebrew, the original languages of the Scriptures, I am able to search lexicons that enrich my understanding of the very words God used to communicate His truth---precious things that are often lost as one language is translated to another.

Today many, like myself, feel we are on the verge of technological overload, but if you want to redeem your time and understand the Bible better, consider today's Bible software. You will not be disappointed, and any time you invest in learning how to use it will not be wasted.
