Apostle John was the final disciple to die. He spent many hours with Christ and referred to himself as the disciple Jesus loved several times in his gospel. This does not mean Jesus did not care for the others. John enjoyed such a relationship with Christ that he gained special insight about our Lord others did not know. The information in John’s gospel is not based upon the synoptics (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) but stands out coming from his personal experience.
