Title: Praying Hyde: Apostle of Prayer, the Life Story of John Hyde
Publisher: Bridge-Logos
Author: E.G. Carre

Description

The prayer life of John Hyde ranks in the same category as other great intercessors of the Christian faith: men like Andrew Murray, Rees Howells, George Mueller and Charles Finney who poured out their hearts in prayer to God. A true prayer warrior, Hyde's prayer flowed out of a deep conviction that God heard him, and we have much we can learn from such a man of faith in Praying Hyde: Apostle of Prayer, the Life Story of John Hyde. This eBook is a compilation of three authors on John Hyde: Francis A. McGaw, Rev. J. Pengwern Jones, and Rev. R. M'Cheyne Patterson. Also included are some letters written by John Hyde.

John Hyde (1865-1912) was a missionary to the Punjab in India. He had trouble picking up the local language because of his partial deafness, but persevered to grasp a workable fluency in it. Hyde was best known for his bold, passionate and heartfelt prayers to God for converts in India. He was an inspiration to his fellow missionaries in India, and he lived long enough to see the fruit of his prayers through a revival in India.
