Title: Exalting Jesus in Psalms 1-50: Christ-Centered Exposition Commentary (CCEC)
Publisher: Broadman & Holman
Author: Daniel L. Akin and J Josh Smith

Description

Exalting Jesus in Psalms 1-50 is part of the Christ-Centered Exposition Commentary series. Edited by David Platt, Daniel L. Akin, and Tony Merida, this commentary series, to include 47 volumes when complete, takes a Christ-centered approach to expositing each book of the Bible. Rather than a verse-by-verse approach, the authors have crafted chapters that explain and apply key passages in their assigned Bible books.

Readers will learn to see Christ in all aspects of Scripture, and they will be encouraged by the devotional nature of each exposition presented as sermons and divided into chapters that conclude with a “Reflect & Discuss” section, making this series ideal for small group study, personal devotion, and even sermon preparation. It’s not academic but rather presents an easy reading, practical and friendly commentary.

J. Josh Smith is the senior pastor of Prince Avenue Baptist Church. He and his wife, Andrea, have four daughters and one son. He is the author of Preaching for a Verdict and co-author of the Psalm 1-50 volume in the Christ-Centered Exposition Series.

Daniel L. Akin is the president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He holds a Ph.D. in Humanities from the University of Texas at Arlington and is the author or editor of numerous books and Bible commentaries including Theology for the Church and the New American Commentary on 1, 2, and 3 John.
